Bernard Creed, a 52-year-old accountant from Dubai, shared the results of his 12-week body modification with men Impilo and pointed out the amazing psychological benefits of his new system.
I was always working and trying to make healthy food choices. Even during Covid, I stuck to my home exercise routine.
I never gained weight, but after about 50 years, I realized that things were starting to get worse for me, and my metabolism was no longer the same as it used to be.
I could no longer get past my previous habits, and I was starting to gain weight and feel uncomfortable in my clothes.
I knew I had to make some changes, so I started working with my coach, Tawfik Bakkar, at Ultimate Performance Dubai. In addition to exercising three times a week, I also spent a lot of time on cardio: I started taking daily trips, and I maintained 15,000 steps each day.
The biggest change for me was learning about macros. This was indeed a revelation. I knew that keeping my protein high could help me maintain my muscle mass, but I ignored the healthy fats I needed and the effect of carbohydrates on energy.
Tracking my macros and keeping within my daily goals forced me to make the best decisions, and I ended up having a huge impact.
I had coaches in the past, but I never got far. Tawfik taught me that the combination of weight training, main goals, sleep, liquid diet, and daily walking were real changes.
He looked after me every day and kept pressuring me - getting this professional help was good.
In total, I lost 13 pounds (28 pounds) and was able to build a muscle mass of 1.5 kgs (3.3 pounds) in 12 weeks.
While the physical change was very good on the outside, I must say that daily walking for more than an hour every day led to a great change on the inside.
It brought an aspect of thinking to my day, and it allowed me to have a quiet time meditating and meditating. This combination of physical and mental changes was something I had never experienced before.
Plus, I've been suffering from low back pain for years - but since training with Tawfik in a way that avoids putting pressure on this area, I've never had problems with my back ever since.
I have continued with my training sessions, my big goals, and my daily commute, and I feel very happy with the choices I have embarked on in my way of life. Tawfik has just started for me in a major phase of my training, which I love.
I build more muscle and increase the amount of food I eat, and I look forward to seeing where this next phase of my health and fitness journey will take me.
My advice to anyone who wants to get into a better position is to find a program with a coach that will work for you and your needs. Having someone to press you, to know what you are doing, and to listen is key.
If you do not have a budget for that, there are many apps and forums out there that are full of useful information.
But remember to remove the noise from the attackers and focus only on what helps you to pursue your goals.
Lastly: taking a daily trip is free, and will surprise you with the impact it can have.
